Entering Data

In general, you will report current data as of the time of your report submission. However, some questions will prompt you to report data for the “most recently completed academic year” (designated as August through July for CAA reports). If you are submitting a report that is due August 1 and your academic year does not end until after the submission date, you should report data based on the most recently completed academic year as it is defined by your program.

Peak Usage Times

Armature Fabric ("Fabric") is the secure web-based online reporting platform that is used to submit accreditation data to the CAA. At times—especially in the weeks leading up to a February 1 or August 1 submission deadline—an increase in user volue can sometimes cause the system to slow down, impacting loading and save times. We work with our vendor to allocate additional resources to the system servers during peak usage times; however, we always recommend programs plan accordingly to work on completing report forms throughout the 4-month reporting window.

Save Your Data

Fabric is designed to automatically save data as you navigate from one report page to the next. However, we recommend that you take the additional step of manually saving your data to avoid losing it.

Faculty

Updating Faculty Information

You can update your faculty list at any time by using a separate web form found on your “My Account” page via the ASHA website.

  1. Select “My Account” located on the top right corner of any page of the ASHA website or click on the “Update Faculty and Program Data” link on the right navigation bar on this CAA webpage.
  2. Enter your ASHA login and password.
  3. Select “Update My Program Data” under the CAA subheading to view the current list of faculty.
  4. Review the faculty list and edit or delete records. You must have the person’s ASHA account number (if there is one) to successfully add them as faculty to avoid creating a duplicate record in the ASHA system.
  5. If you are updating faculty while also completing your CAA report, be sure to return to the CAA report to make sure that these listings match.

The faculty list should represent all faculty currently hired and making contributions to the accredited program. Faculty members who have permanently left the program should be removed from the list. To update this list, you must add or remove faculty as referenced above. Detailed information for each faculty member will also be reported in your CAA report through Fabric. The CAA requires programs to use the Faculty Data Collection Worksheets (see Resources webpage) to compile data for each faculty member in the program seeking accreditation. These worksheets will then be uploaded to Fabric.

If you are reporting for both audiology and speech-language pathology programs, you will need to complete faculty lists separately for each report. Make sure that the faculty contributions are reported in proportion to their contribution for each professional area’s program.

Reporting Faculty Workload Contributions

The CAA defines full-time equivalent (FTE) as the amount of faculty workload that is distributed across all categories (classroom teaching, supervision, advising, administration, etc.) in contribution to the accredited graduate program. The program should provide faculty workload contributions for all faculty members (part-time, full-time, adjunct) who are employed by the institution and are contributing to the accredited or candidate program. This includes faculty who are members of departments other than the department in which the program resides. You should use the institution’s formula when providing the percentage of workload contribution for classroom teaching.

Courses

The CAA requires programs to complete the Standard 3.0 Courses Worksheet (see Resources webpage) to compile data for each course offered in the program seeking accreditation. This worksheet will then be uploaded to Fabric within the application or annual report instrument.

Clinical Sites

The CAA requires programs to complete the Standard 3.6 Clinical Sites Worksheet (see Resources webpage) to compile data for each clinical site used by the program seeking accreditation. This worksheet will then be uploaded to Fabric within the application instrument. Programs that are submitting an annual report are not required to complete the clinical sites worksheet.

Student Outcome Data

Reporting Program Completion

Programs must complete the Program Completion Rate Calculator Worksheet (see Resources webpage) and upload it to Fabric under Standard 5.5 with your CAA report.

Praxis Pass Rates

Reporting Data for Students Who Took the Praxis Exam Twice

Programs are required to report results only once for test-takers who took the Praxis exam multiple times in a single examination reporting period. Note that test-takers who may have taken the exam in the first year of the 3-year reporting period and retook the exam in the second year of the 3-year reporting period should be reported in both years.

Reporting Praxis Pass Rates

Programs should report results on all test-takers from the program who take the Praxis exam within the referenced period/test cycle (comparable to an academic year). You can use ETS data from the Institutional Summary Report to identify individuals who took the exam in a particular reporting year/cycle. However, you also should compare ETS data to your own data within the past 3 years. You should not report data for individuals who graduated from the program more than 3 years ago. Programs also should develop a mechanism for tracking, documenting, and reporting on their graduates’ performance on the Praxis examination.

Submitting Candidacy Applications

Candidacy applications are not submitted online via Fabric. New developing programs with no students enrolled must apply using the Application for Candidacy, which is provided by Accreditation staff after the program has been scheduled for a submission date.
