Proposed Revisions to CAA Accreditation Standards

March 20, 2026

The CAA has published proposed changes to the revised Standards for Accreditation of Graduate Education Programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (the “Standards”) based on a comprehensive literature review, a curriculum and practice analysis of the professions, national surveys, focus groups, feedback from professional conventions, and reports from ad hoc committees.

The CAA is soliciting comments from program directors and faculty members from CAA-accredited graduate programs and CAA site visitors March 9–April 6, 2026. Next, the CAA will solicit comments through a widespread peer review from the larger professional community, additional stakeholders, and the public April 6–24, 2026. Read a comparison of the current and proposed versions of the Standards, including a brief description of the changes.
