2024 Application for CAA Public Member

The Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA), a programmatic accrediting body, is seeking to fill a public member vacancy for a 4-year term beginning January 1, 2025.

The public member, who by their dissociation from the professions and the delivery of a CAA-accredited program, brings non-affiliated stakeholder's perspective to the CAA.

Individuals interested in applying for the public member position must not be a member of the professions of audiology and/or speech-language pathology. In addition, as defined by the U.S. Department of Education, a “representative of the public” is a person who is not:

(a) an employee, member of the governing board, owner, or shareholder of or consultant to a program that either is accredited or has applied for accreditation by the CAA;

(b) a current or past member of any trade association or membership organization which advocates on behalf of audiology and/or speech-language pathology issues; or

(c) a spouse, parent, child, or sibling of an individual identified in (a) or (b).

About the CAA

The Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) accredits eligible clinical doctoral programs in audiology and master's degree programs in speech-language pathology. The CAA relies on a dedicated corps of volunteers serving as Council members and site visitors to accomplish the work of the accreditation program.
